Devarayanadurga trip

COMING UP NEXT....KEEP WATCHING....

Niteesh's Second Birthday

Shravana Belagola, Belur and Halebed Trip

Hello Everyone,

It is very nice to see you over here.. Last week we all went to Shravana Belagola, belur and Halebed. It is a one day trip and it is one of the most interesting and unforgotable trip in our life...

This trip is organized by KSTDC, which is one of the most reliable tour organization people in Karnataka... At around 7 am, we all started our ride towards Shravana Belagula in a A/C volvo coach...

We reached Shravana Belagula around 11:30 in the morning. We are in the foot of Vindhya Giri and there is no motorised roads to reach the top of the hills. Hence we have to climb through steps.

The steps are not so steep, hence most of us will not feel tired
climbing up this hill. On the way, you could see some of the carvings by unknowns.
They are very beautiful, even though they are small

We stayed there for nearly 1 hour watching the gigantic Bahubali and there are two small temples in the top of the hill and looks like they are 100's of years old. The place is very calm and nice to watch the surroundings from the top of the hill..

We climbed down in 10 minutes and got into our bus which has headed towards Belur.. One of the wonderful place in karnatakawhere you will find eye catching carvings..

Belur

One of the most beautiful place in Karnataka for eye catching sculptures... Very minute details are captured in the sculptures. The best way to experience the feelings of these sculptures to have a good guide with you. Since we all went in a KSTDC, the professional guide who was with us explained all the inner details of this Belur temple...

This temple is very very old and you might remember a song from a Tamil Movie Talabhathi ... Sundari Kannaaal oru sethi.. which is shooted here... The entire temple is with these sculptures and each and everything looks like same but they are different..

Every sculpture will have some theme in it.. In one of the sculpture explains the whole ramayana whereas the next one explains about the various hairstyles followed in their era...

When you watch just like that, you will not have any feeling until your guide says the history about it.. He showed the carvings with the help of piece of paper goes inside the sculpture and says that, this type of carvings are very difficult and people during that time did this wonderfully...

Really a marvelous place to see and you can walk around this temple to see these sculptures and go inside the temple and have dharshan...

Halebedu

This also looks similar to Belur. But our guide said this is just a monument and not the active
temple like belur..Here also you can find lot of carvings and before the halebedu temple, you have a nice park where you can spend your evening.

Since you will see everything in Belur itself, you may feel this place is not much interesting, but still you can enjoy the carvings here with the help of your guide...

Like Belur, here the maintenance is very poor and many sculptures
are broken and guide says, people who come here break the stones and get along with them... This is spreaded as "If you have a stone scarvings in your house, your house will have full of joy and happiness". He also mentioned some thing got destroyed by local vandilism.

Once we finished our visit to Halebedu, we started our bus heading towards bangalore by 5PM and reached Bangalore by 8:30.. Roads are very good and in between, there is a hotel where our bus stopped and we have filled our stomach a little to stay for another 2 more hours...

We felt great after visiting these ancient places and we recommend for anyone who wants to spend a day out with a Family. But remember to have a better professional guide with you to enjoy your trip...

Have a nice trip to Shravana Belagula, Belur and Halebedu... Do post your review comments....
